A third mysterious metal monolith has app<\/a>eared in the UK.<\/p>\n

The weird metal structure, measuring 8.2-feet-tall, showed up on top of a hill on Dartmoor.<\/p>\n

The \u201csurreal\u201d sculpture was spotted on the top of the hill in the Devon National Park near the village of Throwleigh in England..<\/p>\n

It appears to be the third of its kind found in the UK since Tuesday, with one on the Isle of Wight and another in Glastonbury.<\/p>\n

The installations were first spotted in Utah in November and have since been popping up around the world.<\/p>\n

The structure was spotted on Dartmoor by photographer Sarah Clarke, who captured an eerie shot of the monolith on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

She shared her image on Twitter<\/a> and had to reassure her followers that the image wasn\u2019t photoshopped.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cSo, a very exciting morning \u2013 it\u2019s a real thing!<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone who knows me knows I just can\u2019t do Photoshop so, take it from me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mark Bullock, who went to look at the pillar on Wednesday, said its vantage point on the hill made it appear like \u201csomething was wrong with the sky\u201d.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cIt was a bit surreal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dartmoor National Park has since removed the monolith, saying the moorland is protected.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said: \u201cWe know people may think these types of things are an interesting talking point, but it must be remembered that Dartmoor is a protected landscape for its importance for wildlife, nature and archaeology.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mystery began in Utah when\u00a0mysterious pillars were spotted in desert and also in California<\/a>\u00a0earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Locals spotted\u00a0the latest eerie monolith<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0San Luis Obispo County<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday morning on top of Pine Mountain in Atascadero, California.<\/p>\n

Two weeks before, wildlife officials found a similar strange structure in Red Rock Desert, Utah \u2013 though it has now been removed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Shortly after, an\u00a0identical monolith found on a Romanian hillside mysteriously vanished<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 13ft \u201calien\u201d monolith was spotted on Batca Doamnei Hill in the city of Piatra Neamt on November 26 \u2013 but has now disappeared.<\/p>\n

According to Sky, an anonymous collective called \u2018The Most Famous Artist\u2019 has taken credit for the monoliths in Utah and California.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
