A bodega owner is dead and three others have been injured \u2014 one critically \u2014 after a shooting Saturday night in Suffolk County, according to reports.<\/p>\n

The gunfire broke out at 6:10 p.m. at the La Vaquita Corp. deli on Great Neck Road in Copiague, Newsday reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The three victims were taken to local hospitals; the shooter was being sought.<\/p>\n

The bodega owner\u2019s son told CBS2<\/a> that he was in the basement when he heard gunfire; he soon learned that one of the bullets had claimed his father\u2019s life. <\/p>\n

\u201cOne person inside was dead on arrival,\u201d Lt. Kevin Beyer told the station. <\/p>\n

\u201cThree other persons were shot. They were taken to area hospitals. One is in serious condition. Two are in critical condition.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bodega owner, whose name was not immedia<\/a>tely confirmed, was well-liked, neighbor Raymond Pena told the station.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole town will be crying,\u201d Pena said. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re going to be very upset because he\u2019s so good for everybody. When he knows you\u2019re hungry, he\u2019s like, \u2018Come on, come on, what can I give you? What can I do for you?\u2019 Give it for free, give the food for free to anybody because he\u2019s so good,\u201d Pena said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s like a little kid, the owner. The best guy in the town.\u201d<\/p>\n

Suffolk County police were requesting that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS; callers will remain anonymous.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
