A\u00a0wildfire\u00a0in Riverside County,\u00a0California\u00a0has burned through nearly 2,000 acres Sunday as roughly 130 firefighters work to contain its spread.<\/p>\n

The blaze, dubbed the Sanderson Fire, erupted at around 1 a.m. near La Borde Canyon Road and\u00a0Jack Rabbit Trail.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Firefighters were able to stop the forward spread of the flames on Sunday afternoon after being\u00a0assisted<\/a>\u00a0by three helicopters, six air tankers, and four fire crews.<\/p>\n

However, the Sanderson fire is currently only 10% contained, according to the\u00a0latest update from Calfire<\/a>. The\u00a0cause of\u00a0the incident remains under investigation.\u00a0No injuries have been reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition, the California Highway Patrol of San Gorgonio Pass has lifted an\u00a0evacuation order issued Sunday afternoon for homes north of Gilman Springs road and south of Timothy Lane. Homes included in the order were on\u00a0Jerry Street, Mc Gehee Drive, Alberta Lane, Laurene Lane, Lisa Lane and Kevin Road.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As of Sunday, California has\u00a0experienced<\/a>\u00a0over 9,600 fires in 2020, with more than 4.1 million total acres burned, 31 fatalities, and over 10,400 structures damaged or destroyed.\u00a0\n <\/div>\n
