A chilling image shows the full can of gasoline, knives \u2014 and worn bible \u2014 that police say the St. John the Divine Cathedral gunman brought with him when he opened fire outside the Harlem church on Sunday. <\/p>\n

The disturbing photo released by the NYPD includes other items \u2014 including several spools of rope, duct tape, wire and a red beanie and gloves \u2014 found in a duffel bag believed to belong to the suspect near the scene of the afternoon mayhem.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we can all surmise the ill intentions of the proceeds of this bag,\u201d Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said at a press briefing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cops and witnesses say the 52-year-old man, with a gun in each hand, fired from the top step of the landmark cathedral just after a Christmas concert \u2014 sending bystanders cowering for cover.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe started shouting, \u2018Kill me! Kill me!\u2019 and shooting at the big metal door in the center [of the church],\u201d a witness told The Post.<\/p>\n

Three hero officers confronted the shooter, firing some 15 rounds at him, Shea said.<\/p>\n

The suspect was struck at least once in the head during the shootout and pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.<\/p>\n

Police also released an image of the two semi-automatic handguns, one silver and one black, that the suspect used.<\/p>\n

A dozen people called 911 from the scene saying shots were fired, the NYPD said.<\/p>\n

Other images, from a Reuters photographer, showed officers cautiously app<\/a>roaching the area, some crouching behind garbage pails.<\/p>\n

Cops did not immedia<\/a>tely identify the shooter.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
