The latest entry is<strong>\u00a0<em>Outside the Wire<\/em><\/strong>, a new movie from director\u00a0<strong>Mikael H\u00e5fstr\u00f6m<\/strong> that finds <strong>Anthony Mackie <\/strong>playing an android. Watch the trailer below.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Outside_the_Wire_Trailer\"><\/span><strong>Outside the Wire Trailer\u00a0<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Outside the Wire | Official Teaser Trailer | Netflix\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iwYhA5YvdNc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->I was not particularly wowed by\u00a0<em>The Old Guard<\/em> or\u00a0<em>Extraction<\/em>, but they were both big hits for Netflix, so it makes sense that they\u2019re ready to pump out even more action titles. The latest is\u00a0<em>Outside the Wire<\/em>, and based on this trailer, it looks like it\u2019ll make a nice companion piece to those two other films. Whether or not that\u2019s a\u00a0<em>good<\/em> thing is up to you! Netflix has already proven they can produce great dramas \u2013\u00a0<em>The Irishman<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Mank<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>I\u2019m Thinking of Ending Things<\/em> are just a few examples. But their action offerings so far have been severely lacking. I\u2019m sure sooner or later they\u2019ll get it right, though. They might even get it right this time! For all I know, this trailer isn\u2019t telling the whole story, and there\u2019s a lot more the film has to offer. Hopefully.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<em>Outside the Wire<\/em>, it\u2019s the future, and \u201ca drone pilot (<strong>Damson Idris<\/strong>) is sent into a deadly militarized zone where he finds himself working for an android officer (Anthony Mackie) tasked to locate a doomsday device before the insurgents do.\u201d That gives the movie an excuse to have Mackie running around and kicking everyone in the face, and there\u2019s certainly nothing wrong with that. Also, it\u2019s slightly amusing that there are multiple instances in this trailer where characters point out that\u00a0<em>no one knows<\/em> that Mackie\u2019s character is really an android, and then he runs around defying gravity and doing all sorts of crazy, impossible shit. <em>No one<\/em>\u00a0has caught on to the fact that this guy is a robot?<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Idris and Mackie,\u00a0<em>Outside the Wire<\/em> also features\u00a0<strong>Enzo Cilenti<\/strong> as Miller, <strong>Emily Beecham<\/strong> as Sofiya, <strong>Michael Kelly<\/strong> as Eckhart, and<strong> Pilou Asb\u00e6k<\/strong> as Victor Koval. I know none of those character names mean anything to you, but I included them anyway. You\u2019re welcome.
