Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>les with growing pressure to address discrimination and diversity issues within its ranks.<\/p>\n<p> Brougher sued Pinterest<br \/>\n        PINS,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/211319641\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-1.88%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       in August, alleging the social media company maintained a culture of secrecy among top male executives that resulted in her being left out of meetings and decision-making.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       In\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/digital-diplomacy\/the-pinterest-paradox-cupcakes-and-toxicity-57ed6bd76960\" class=\"icon none\">a blog post<\/a>, she accused the company of having a hostile work environment for women and that \u201cfemale executives, even at the highest levels, are marginalized, excluded, and silenced.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brougher, a former executive of Square Inc.<br \/>\n        SQ,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/205989440\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-0.34%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       and\u00a0Alphabet\u00a0Inc.\u2019s<br \/>\n        GOOGL,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/202490156\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-1.27%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n      \u00a0Google, was hired in 2018 and became Pinterest\u2019s first operating chief and one of the top female figures at the company. She said she was fired in April.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPinterest recognizes the importance of fostering a workplace environment that is diverse, equitable and inclusive and will continue its actions to improve its culture,\u201d the company said in a joint statement with Brougher.
