“#Classic Side-Scroller Series<\/a> Valis Launches 35th Anniversary Site<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

December 2021 will mark 35 years since the original entry in Telenet Japan's Valis <\/i><\/b>series of side-scrollers—Valis: The Fantasm Soldier<\/i>—launched on PC-88 and also made its way to Famicom, Mega Drive, and PC Engine. To prepare for the milestone, Edia launched a special 35th anniversary website<\/b><\/span><\/a> to celebrate the series and, hopefully, pave the way for more to come.<\/p>\n

You can see a brief overview<\/span><\/a> of the sequels that followed over the years on the site, from June 1989's release of Valis II<\/i> on PC to August 1991's release of Valis IV <\/i>on PC Engine Super CD-ROM². <\/p>\n

Speaking of which, the Super Nintendo version of that one, Super Valis IV<\/i>, just happ<\/a>ened to launch on the Nintendo Switch Online game<\/a> library, so you can jam it right now if you're a Switch Online subscriber. <\/p>\n

We'll have to wait and see if the Coming Soon section of the site fills out with anything interesting. In the meantime, there's a Twitter account<\/span><\/a> to follow for updates. <\/p>\n
