\nIn March, Bandcamp<\/a> announced an initiative to help musicians affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the platform waiving its percentage cut for sales made on the first Friday of each month. After the final Bandcamp Friday of 2020 on December, the company has announced<\/a> an extension of the program. Bandcamp Fridays will continue through May 2021: February 5, March 5, April 2, and May 7. (There will not be a Bandcamp Friday on January 1, 2021.)<\/p>\n

In addition to the Bandcamp Friday extension, Bandcamp revealed that fans spent $40 million through the monthly promotions. In November, the platform launched a new livestream feature for artists to hosts remote shows.<\/p>\n
