“#One Day at a Time: Here’s What Would’ve Happ<\/a>ened Next…<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

One Day at a Time is over.<\/p>\n

The beloved Netflix-turned-Pop comedy series<\/a> will not be returning to finish out its fourth season.<\/p>\n

While the news<\/a> sucks, series co-showrunner Gloria Calder\u00f3n Kellett has revealed what would have happened in the final six episodes of the fourth season.<\/p>\n

\n \"Meeting<\/img>\n<\/div>\n

The tweets included loglines for episodes 8-13, giving fans an idea of what would have come next for the Alvarez family.<\/p>\n

Episode 8: \u201cChurch & Statement\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

When Lydia\u2019s church hires a young, progressive priest (Cruz), Lydia is able to convince Elena to start attending regular Sunday services again.<\/p>\n

\n \"Alex<\/img>\n<\/div>\n

Elena enjoys the positive message for a few weeks, until she misses an opportunity to clarify her sexual orientation and quickly realizes she was never be truly accepted by her church.<\/p>\n

Lydia takes it upon herself to challenge the priest on this. Meanwhile, Schneider enlists Alex to help him build a crib and baby-proof his apartment. Both of them learn they have a lot to offer each other in terms of father\/son relationships.<\/p>\n

Episode 9: \u201cSteppin\u2019 Out\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now that Penelope is a nurse practitioner, she decides to see what else is out there work-wise, to surprising results.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Elena and Syd bond over their mutual crush, Tanya [the barista, played by Taylor-Klaus], but Elena takes it a little too far.<\/p>\n

oth Penelope and Elena take advice from Lydia, resulting in the two Alvarez women dealing with the outcome of their decisions.<\/p>\n

Episode 10: \u201cOne Year at a Time\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s New Year\u2019s Eve! Lydia is pumped to celebrate but the fam is tired of the rigmarole of ALL the Cuban traditions and wants to go out. So they hatch a plan so everyone gets what they want.<\/p>\n

They turn back the clock and do a fake New Year\u2019s Eve for Lydia at 9 pm (with the New York ball drop) and head out to their fun nights.<\/p>\n

Everyone wins! Until their plans fall apart and they return home to find that Lydia knows what they\u2019ve done.<\/p>\n

How the new year finds you is how the year will be and it can\u2019t find them mad and not doing things the Cuban way. Now they must make things right before the strike of midnight or the next year will be ruined.<\/p>\n

Episode 11: \u201cRoad Trip<\/a>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Alvarez family road trip to the Grand Canyon extends to New Haven, CT, after Elena hears a rumor that touring the Yale campus will better her chances of getting accepted.<\/p>\n

To make the long drive comfortable, Schneider offers his RV, which is a replica of the Alvarez home.<\/p>\n

\n \"Avery<\/img>\n<\/div>\n

On the road, Schneider questions whether he will ever be as good a parent as Penelope.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Alex and Lydia catch up on a telenovela until a betrayal Alex has been keeping secret is revealed. Suddenly, Lydia and Alex find themselves living out a real-life telenovela\u2026 in an RV.<\/p>\n

Episode 12: \u201cCancelled\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lydia cancels the birthday party Penelope has planned for her, insisting that she\u2019s not in the mood to celebrate.<\/p>\n

Elena and Alex discover their abuelita is upset about mementos from Cuba that have deteriorated beyond repair.<\/p>\n

\n \"Shocking<\/img>\n<\/div>\n

But when they find an old tape of Lydia singing as a young girl, she gets an unexpected birthday present. Meanwhile, Penelope gets \u201ccancelled\u201d by Schneider when she makes fun of Avery\u2019s alternative home birth plan, advocating instead for a hospital birth using traditional medical practices.<\/p>\n

In the end, Penelope finds the ultimate way to redeem herself, by delivering Schneider and Avery\u2019s beautiful, healthy child\u2026 right in the Alvarezes\u2019 apartment.<\/p>\n

Episode 13: \u201cDreams\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n \"Three's<\/img>\n<\/div>\n

When Penelope accidentally sees an email on Elena\u2019s phone and discovers that Elena did not get into Yale, the Alvarezes scramble to try to prepare Elena for crushing disappointment.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Avery and Schneider enlist the help of Dr. Berkowitz to help solve Schneider\u2019s new parent insomnia.<\/p>\n
