The actress of the beloved sitcom released a long statement to her<strong> Instagram<\/strong> on Wednesday, announcing that the <strong>Disney+<\/strong> revival is no longer h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ening.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Kardashians Getting The Reboot Treatment \u2014 Family Strikes Deal With Hulu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Duff told followers:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019ve been so honored to have the character of Lizzie in my life. She has made such a lasting impact on many, including myself. To see the fans\u2019 loyalty and love for her, to this day, means so much to me. I know the efforts and conversations have been everywhere trying to make a reboot work but, sadly and despite everyone\u2019s best efforts, it isn\u2019t going to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She continued, barely hinting at some of the drama we\u2019ve heard surrounding the show over the past year:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI want any reboot of Lizzie to be honest and authentic to who Lizzie would be today. It\u2019s what the character deserves. We can all take a moment to mourn the amazing woman she would have been and the adventures we would have taken with her. ICYMI, after production started in November 2019, it soon came to a halt two months later. You\u2019d think that would be bad enough, but then the original creator <strong>Terri Minsky<\/strong> also then left the show.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2020\/tv\/news\/lizzie-mcguire-disney-plus-showrunner-1203462382\/\"><em>Variety<\/em><\/a>, Minsky and Duff wanted to make the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> more realistic and mature, but the streaming service wanted it to be more PG-rated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"highlight\">Lame.<\/p>\n<p>In February, the 33-year-old star chimed in, sharing on Instagram that she wanted to honor Lizzie and make a reboot that resonated with fans. She ended her post at the time, asking Disney to move the show to <strong>Hulu<\/strong> so the character\u2019s 30-year-old life could be portrayed more authentically.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019d be doing a disservice to everyone by limiting the realities of a 30-year-old\u2019s journey to live under the ceiling of a PG rating. It\u2019s important to me that just as her experiences as a preteen \/ teenager navigating life were authentic, her next chapters are equally as real and relatable.
