\n Someone set off an elaborate late-night fireworks show on a Brooklyn street \u2014 just as scores of drivers fed up with the illegal pyrotechnics honked their horns outside Gracie Mansion to disrupt Mayor Bill de Blasio\u2019s slumber, dramatic video posted to Twitter<\/a> shows.<\/p>\n

The video, tweeted by Masha Protasova around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday and taken somewhere in Crown Heights, shows multi-colored fireworks shooting high above the rooftops, with loud bangs and pops.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou f\u2014ing kidding me,\u201d Protasova wrote.<\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear where the video was taken, or whether police took any enforcement action.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, protesters idled in their cars near Hizzoner\u2019s Upper East Side residence, many blaring their horns for at least a minute straight.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to send a message that we need to end these chaotic fireworks that [have] been happ<\/a>ening across the city,\u201d City Councilman Chaim Deutsch, who attended the protest, said in a video statement posted to his Twitter account. \u201cSo if we can\u2019t sleep, Mr. Mayor, you won\u2019t sleep.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deafened city dwellers have lodged 8,967 complaints of illegal fireworks so far this month in the Big Apple \u2014 more than 320 times the 28 gripes logged in the same period last year.<\/p>\n
