Tom Cruise<\/strong>\u2019s expletive-filled COVID-19 tirade may have garnered the support of Hollywood\u2019s stars, but it may have lost him a more crucial demographic \u2014 his own crew. As we previously reported, it was the Mission: Impossible<\/em> crew who were the subject of the action star\u2019s ire for allegedly breaking pandemic safety protocol.<\/p>\n

In a screaming rant, he berated the shocked staffers:<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t ever want to see it again, ever! And if you don\u2019t do it you\u2019re fired, if I see you do it again you\u2019re f***ing gone. And if anyone in this crew does it \u2013 that\u2019s it, and you too and you too. And you, don\u2019t you ever f***ing do it again. That\u2019s it! No apologies.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Well, from what we\u2019re hearing, some of the crew members have decided not to give the 58-year-old a chance to fire them. According to The Sun<\/em>, the UK tabloid that first released the leaked audio, at least five staffers have quit the production in the wake of Tom\u2019s attack.<\/p>\n

A source told the outlet:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first outburst was big but things haven\u2019t calmed since. Tension has been building for months and this was the final straw. Since it became public there has been more anger and several staff have walked. But Tom just can\u2019t take any more after all the lengths they have gone to just to keep filming at all. He\u2019s upset others aren\u2019t taking it as seriously as him. In the end, he\u2019s the one who carries the can.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Look, we\u2019re on the record as sympathetic to the Risky Business<\/em> star\u2019s message. A big budget movie can create a lot of jobs, and as a producer on the film, we get that he\u2019s feeling the pressure. But threatening crew members who probably make 10x less than he does is just\u2026 not a good look.<\/p>\n

Cruise\u2019s raving rant has sparked some discussion about the power dynamics of Hollywood. While many have been empathetic to his cause, some pointed out that the audio would have been received very differently had it come from someone else.<\/p>\n

Broadway star Patti Murin<\/strong> tweeted:<\/p>\n
