\n Sandra Dewey, who heads up business operations for WarnerMedia<\/a> including its newly-launched VOD platform HBO Max, logged in to the Cannes virtual Marche today to offer an update on the streamer\u2019s operations since it went online.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest headlines post-launch has been around \u201cGone With The Wind,\u201d the 1939 epic that was pulled from the service earlier this month due to its depictions of \u201cethnic and racial prejudices\u201d. Today, Dewey confirmed that the film will be back online \u201cvery soon\u201d with added historical context. Film scholar Jacqueline Stewart is providing that context via a new introduction that will app<\/a>ear pre-film when viewers stream.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand the value and historical place these films have,\u201d said Dewey today. \u201cWe think it\u2019s important as people who are carrying messages to the public that we provide appropriate responsible messages.\u201d She didn\u2019t note a specific date for when the movie will be back.<\/p>\n

Dewey was also quizzed on the highly-anticipated \u201cSnyder cut,\u201d i.e. Zack Snyder\u2019s anticipated new edit of his \u201cJustice League\u201d movie. The exec wouldn\u2019t be drawn into details, but said she was excited to provide content that showed the company was listening to its fans, and reiterated that it will debut in 2021.<\/p>\n

On the subject of new content, Dewey teased the release of Seth Rogen comedy feature \u201cAn American Pickle,\u201d which is being released in August, as well as a quarantine cooking showing starring Selena Gomez. In one episode Gomez will be cooking a souffl\u00e9, the exec revealed.<\/p>\n

Bad news<\/a> for international HBO fans, however, as it sounds like you\u2019ll have to wait a while longer yet to access HBO Max, with Dewey confirming that Latin America is the only region where \u201cfirm progress\u201d is being made towards launch.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
