“#Sony pulls ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ from PlayStation store after complaints<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Sony has pulled \u201cCyberpunk 2077\u201d from its PlayStation store following widespread complaints about glitches in the futuristic video game<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sony Interactive Entertainment, the Japanese tech giant\u2019s gaming division, announced<\/a> Thursday evening that it was removing the game from its digital store \u201cuntil further notice.\u201d<\/p>\n

The company also set up an online form for players to claim refunds for the game, which \u201cCyberpunk\u201d developer CD Projekt Red said it would offer following gripes about the problems that have plagued the title since its launch last week.<\/p>\n

Sony Interactive Entertainment \u201cstrives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store,\u201d the company said on its website<\/a>, adding that the refund process may vary depending on the buyer\u2019s payment method and financial institution.<\/p>\n

In a statement Friday, CD Projekt Red said it had a discussion with PlayStation\u00a0before \u201cCyberpunk\u201d was yanked from the store. But Sony did not immedia<\/a>tely respond to an email seeking more details about why it decided to pull the game and when it might return.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are working hard to bring \u2018Cyberpunk 2077 back to PlayStation Store as soon as possible,\u201d\u00a0CD Projekt Red said<\/a>, noting that physical copies of the game are still for sale in stores and online.<\/p>\n

The game\u2019s removal from the PlayStation store delivered another blow to CD Projekt, the Polish company that spent eight years hyping \u201cCyberpunk 2077\u201d only to see it crash and burn.<\/p>\n

The firm\u2019s shares on the Warsaw Stock Exchange had plunged about 12 percent to 271.40 Polish zloty, or $74.14, as of 11:03 a.m. Friday.<\/p>\n

While early reviews indicated the open-world role-playing game performed decently on on PCs and the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series<\/a> X systems, players complained that it was \u201ctotally broken\u201d on older Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.<\/p>\n

After gamers shared videos<\/a> of various glitches such as a vehicle driving through walls and characters with blurred-out faces, CD Projekt Red apologized for the problems and admitted it \u201cshould have paid more attention\u201d to improving the game\u2019s performance on older consoles.<\/p>\n

Sony did not immediately respond to an email early Friday asking why it decided to yank \u201cCyberpunk\u201d from the PlayStation store and when the game might return.<\/p>\n
