The park\u2019s\u00a0only ride-through princess attraction, which was formerly known as <strong>Snow White\u2019s Scary Adventures<\/strong>, now has a new name: <strong>Snow White\u2019s Enchanted Wish<\/strong>. According to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/disneyparks.disney.go.com\/blog\/2020\/12\/first-look-of-snow-whites-enchanted-wish-at-disneyland-park\/\">Disney Parks blog<\/a>, the overhaul uses \u201cstate-of-the-art audio and visual <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>, including new music, LED black lighting, laser projections and a new animation system\u201d to bring Snow White\u2019s \u201chappily ever after\u201d to life.<\/p>\n<p>Get a first look at the updated attraction below.<br \/><span id=\"more-651356\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Snow_Whites_Enchanted_Wish\"><\/span>Snow White\u2019s Enchanted Wish<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"First Look: Snow White\u2019s Enchanted Wish | Disneyland Park\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yeAUL3rm-6U?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->While the park has been closed due to the pandemic, Walt Disney Imagineering has taken that opportunity to put the finishing touches on this reimagining of this classic attraction, which was one of the rides in operation when Disneyland first opened.\u00a0New riders will notice \u201cenhanced story details and all-new scenes,\u201d and will also experience the smell of apple pie being pumped through a section of the ride to mimic Doc\u2019s baking,<\/p>\n<p>This is a far cry from the original ride, which put viewers in Snow White\u2019s perspective and plunged them into a terrifying journey that not even the notoriously demented Mr. Toad\u2019s Wild Ride could match. The original Snow White ride was a deeply disturbing experience full of jump scares and genuinely horrifying sounds and imagery: this video of a 1991 ride-through is unsettling to me as an adult even now, and almost feels like watching a <em>Blair Witch<\/em> movie:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Snow White&#039;s Adventures (Original Version) Ride-through with light 1991\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sqBH5ILiDbw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>There have been several updates and renovations to the ride since then to cut down on complaints from parents and children, and this new update feels specifically designed to shave off any remaining \u201cedge\u201d that the ride once possessed. (Even the outside facade has been repainted with \u201cwarmer pinks and gold colors\u201d and \u201cmaybe a cheerier blue\u201d to cut down on even the vague\u00a0<em>appearance<\/em> of being scary from the outside.)<\/p>\n<p>All of this seems like a microcosm of the most boring and safe approach Disney could possibly take here, and\u00a0it\u2019s indicative of the way that the company\u2019s conservative approach to storytelling \u2013 in this case, storytelling in the form of crafting theme park rides \u2013 can sometimes go too far and end up offsetting all of the elements that made a story interesting in the first place. Now this just seems like a boring, traditional ride that has no personality or hook.
