You can toggle noise canceling on AirPods Pro using the Force Sensor on the stem of the AirPods Pro, or tapp<\/a>ing the button in\u00a0Control Center. Or you can do it right from the home screen on iPhone or iPad using the Shortcuts widget.<\/p>\n

The Shortcuts widget gives you a one-tap option for enabling or disabling noise cancellation (or changing to a different noise-control mode) right from the home screen.<\/p>\n

Shortcuts is Apple\u2019s built-in automation app\u00a0for iPhone and iPad. You can use it to create simple or complex automations. In this guide, we will be creating two distinct shortcuts, one for enabling noise cancellation mode and one for disabling it. We will then add the two shortcuts to a folder and add the folder to a shortcuts widget which can be access from the home screen on iPhone and iPad.<\/p>\n

To get started, open the \u201cShortcuts\u201d app on your iPhone or iPad, and from the \u201cMy Shortcuts\u201d tab, tap the \u201cPlus\u201d icon from the top-right corner of the screen.<\/p>\n

Now, choose the \u201cAdd Action\u201d button.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Here, search for, and add the \u201cSet Noise Control Mode\u201d action.<\/p>\n

Now, tap the \u201cRoute\u201d button.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

From the list, select your AirPods Pro (make sure they are connected to your iPhone or iPad).<\/p>\n

Next, tap the \u201cNoise Control Mode\u201d button.<\/p>\n

Here, you can select the Off, Noise Cancellation, Transparency, or Ask Each Time option. As we\u2019re creating a shortcut for enabling noise cancellation mode, choose the \u201cNoise Cancellation\u201d option.<\/p>\n

Now, tap the \u201cNext\u201d button.<\/p>\n

Here, give your shortcut a name. You can also customize the shortcut icon. Then, tap the \u201cDone\u201d button.<\/p>\n

Your shortcut will be saved. Now we\u2019ll create another shortcut for disabling noise cancellation mode. And that can be done quite easily using the duplicate shortcuts feature.<\/p>\n

Tap and hold the shortcut we just created and choose the \u201cDuplicate\u201d option.<\/p>\n

Now, tap the \u201cNoise Cancellation\u201d button.<\/p>\n

From the popup, select the \u201cOff\u201d option.<\/p>\n

Then, tap the \u201cMenu\u201d button from the top.<\/p>\n

Here, change the name of the shortcut and select the \u201cDone\u201d button.<\/p>\n

Now that we have created both shortcuts, it\u2019s time to add them to the home screen. We can do this using the Shortcuts widget that\u2019s available for devices running iOS 14, iPadOS 14, and higher.<\/p>\n

First, we\u2019ll add both shortcuts to a new folder. To do this, tap the \u201cSelect\u201d button from the top of the My Shortcuts tab.<\/p>\n

After selecting both shortcuts, tap the \u201cMove\u201d button.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Here, select the \u201cNew Folder\u201d option.<\/p>\n

Give the folder a name and choose the \u201cAdd\u201d option.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Now that the folder is created, it\u2019s time to add the shortcuts to your home screen.<\/p>\n

Navigate to your home screen and tap and hold the empty part of the home screen. Then, tap the \u201cPlus\u201d button from the top-left corner of the screen.<\/p>\n

Here, choose the \u201cShortcuts\u201d app.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Go to the medium-sized widget and tap the \u201cAdd Widget\u201d button.<\/p>\n

Once the widget is added to the home screen, tap it.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Here, choose the \u201cFolder\u201d option.<\/p>\n

Now, select the folder we created above.<\/p>\n

Go back to the home screen and tap the \u201cDone\u201d button to save the home screen layout.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll now see both the shortcuts on your home screen. Just tap a shortcut to instantly enable or disable noise cancellation on your AirPods Pro.<\/p>\n
