\n Pornhub, the world\u2019s most popular porn site, has been under fire in recent months for featuring videos of sex-trafficking victims \u2014 including a 15-year-old underage victim from Florida, 118 confirmed cases of child abuse, as well as 22 women allegedly duped and coerced by Michael Pratt, owner of GirlsDoPorn, into performing sex acts on film that were subsequently monetized on a Pornhub partner channel (Pratt has been found civilly liable and now faces federal criminal charges).<\/p>\n

Now add another blatant misdeed to the litany of the site\u2019s misdeeds: While the rest of the country grapp<\/a>les with race and racism, Pornhub enables, monetizes and promotes content involving racism in its most extreme forms.<\/p>\n

The pervasive sexualized hatred Pornhub dishes out as masturbation material should alarm a \u00adnation that otherwise claims to condemn bigotry.<\/p>\n

Decent Americans mourned the unjust killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Yet for Pornhub, the tragedy supplied grist for masturbation. Recently approved and uploaded titles include \u201cI Can\u2019t Breathe,\u201d posted by a verified user, with search tags that include \u201cGeorge Floyd\u201d and \u201cchoke-out.\u201d A for-profit partner channel on Pornhub called Black Patrol sexualizes police brutality against African Americans with titles such as \u201cWhite Cops Track Down and F\u200a-\u200a-\u200ak Black Deadbeat Dad.\u201d<\/p>\n

Countless other titles on Pornhub feature variations on the \u201cN\u201d-word and \u201cwhite master.\u201d \u00ad\u201cExploited black teens\u201d and \u201cblack slave\u201d are suggested search terms deliberately promoted by Pornhub to its users. If the titles repulse you, imagine what the videos do to the ever-younger eyes and minds that daily encounter hardcore, racist porn.<\/p>\n

African-Americans aren\u2019t the only community denigrated for pleasure and profit on Pornhub. There are also loads of anti-Semitic content on the site. Pornhub had approved and monetized with ads videos with titles such as \u201cNazi Rick & Morty Have Sex at Auschwitz\u201d and \u201cNazi F\u200a-\u200a-\u200ak Camp\u201d \u00ad(involving \u201cJewish corpses\u201d).<\/p>\n

Wildly anti-Semitic videos such as these are uploaded by Pornhub verified users, accounts with \u00adusernames like \u201cOvenBakedJew\u201d and \u201cHitler the Jew-Slayer.\u201d Many of these videos have remained on the site for months and years, with comments such as \u201cBlacks, Jews and Muslims \u2014 bad seed!\u201d and \u201cAnne Frank was hiding, but I didn\u2019t want to kill her, I just wanted to make a casting-couch Auschwitz edition!\u201d<\/p>\n

Pornhub places monetized ads all over these videos, comments and user accounts.<\/p>\n

As Calev Myers, deputy president of the International Associations of Jewish Lawyers and \u00adJurists, told me, \u201cthe violently \u00adaggressive nature of the anti-Semitic rhetoric on Pornhub dehumanizes the Jewish people and brutally assaults the memory of the Holocaust and all the people who were murdered in it. Those who allow these types of expressions to be broadcast publicly are essentially condoning the Holocaust and its horrors.\u201d<\/p>\n

The company insists it has an \u201cextensive team\u201d of moderators who view \u201cevery video upon \u00adupload.\u201d Yet countless such racist videos get through. Which means that Pornhub is either lying about the existence of its moderators \u2014 or that Pornhub is viewing, approving and monetizing extreme forms of racism and anti-Semitism (not to mention videos of sex-trafficking victims).<\/p>\n

Neither of those options is acceptable. The abject reality of Pornhub \u2014 it reviews this content, green lights it for 115 million visitors daily and monetizes it to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars a year \u2014 should disturb anyone who cares about the rights of women and children to be free from exploitation and everyone who cares about equality and a \u00adsociety free from hatred.<\/p>\n

America has made great strides in combating the exploitation of women and girls. We have also overcome historical slavery, legal apartheid and the horrors of anti-Semitism. This is to our credit. Yes, racism and anti-Semitism persist, but they are utterly banned from \u00adethical society. And yet there is this underside to our society, where the same awful phenomena are \u00ad promoted, broadcast, used for pleasure \u2014 and monetized for profit. That\u2019s not progress.<\/p>\n
