A former \u201cSurvivor\u201d contestant and his mother have been charged with stealing jewelry and furniture from a family member\u2019s Virginia home, a report said.<\/p>\n

Jonny Fairplay \u2014 who is best known for lying about his \u201cdead grandmother\u201d on the reality show \u2014 turned himself in for the alleged theft on Friday, the Danville Register & Bee<\/a>. <\/p>\n

His mother, 68-year-old Patsy Terry Hall, was also arrested for the crime.<\/p>\n

The duo were charged with grand larceny for the thefts from a Danville home in October, the news<\/a>paper reported, citing local authorities.<\/p>\n

They are accused of stealing a $5,000 silver necklace, a leather desk chair, three bar stools and an end table from the home, the report said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI (we) have been unjustly charged by a family member. I welcome the opportunity to vindicate myself (and my mother),\u201d Fairplay wrote in a message to The Associated Press on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
