Fears for comic John Mulaney\u2019s sobriety and mental health began after he made a bizarre app<\/a>earance on Seth Meyers\u2019 show, wearing dark glasses and calling Prince Harry a \u201cdumb ginger\u201d and Meghan Markle a \u201csilly goose.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the \u201cLate Night\u201d clip<\/a>, posted to YouTube<\/a> on November 24, Mulaney \u2014 who Page Six exclusively revealed has checked into rehab for cocaine and alcohol addiction \u2014 hosts a fake \u201cRoyal Watch: News<\/a> from the Real-Life \u2018Crown\u2019\u201d segment and jokes that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were annoyed by COVID because it took all the media attention away from their Megxit \u201cstunt.\u201d <\/p>\n

Mulaney \u2014 wearing a rumpled, oversized coat and sunglasses, both gifts from Julian Casablancas of the Strokes, who performed on the \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d Mulaney hosted in October \u2014 said Harry was \u201cthe real dunce of this fairytale \u2026 You dumb ginger, don\u2019t leave your title just because you don\u2019t like your 94-year-old grandma.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the definition of something you wait out, gangsta. I am pretty sure father time is going to sort out the case of the very old bummer woman who had 30 months to live,\u201d Mulaney said before adding, \u201cAhh, too mean.\u201d <\/p>\n

After Meyers brings up the death of Princess Diana, Mulaney \u2014 who eventually took off his sunglasses to reveal dark, bleary eyes \u2014 said of Meghan, \u201cYou know it\u2019s weird, right, that Meghan and Harry left?<\/p>\n

\u201cYou thought rolling with those dorks in church clothes would be fun? Had you been told it was non-stop laughs? Because you\u2019re thinking of \u2018The Munsters,\u2019 you silly goose.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 38-year-old continued, \u201cJust the fact that she wanted to leave the royal family because they were like \u2018be proper and sit still\u2019 \u2026 So don\u2019t marry into the family with the most jive-ass boring people ever and then be like, \u2018Oh, shall we play Never Have I Ever?\u201d<\/p>\n

Mulaney also adds of himself, \u201cIndeed, I am simple and difficult,\u201d before Meyers is forced to describe to him how Google News\u2019 algorithm works.<\/p>\n

At the end of Mulaney\u2019s rambling speech, punctuated by long pauses, Meyers \u2014 who had earlier asked him to \u201cstart again\u201d and inexplicably asks him to spell the word \u201csheriff\u201d \u2014 said, \u201cI love having you on here, but in the future, if you just want to talk things like this out, a phone call might be better \u2026 We will see what of this we can use, but it might be online only.\u201d <\/p>\n

Mulaney adds, \u201cThe next \u2018Royal Watch\u2019 will be a little more focused \u2026 Thank you Seth, and as a student reporter once wrote of me, \u2018Thank you for the laughs, albeit virtual.’\u201d<\/p>\n

One viewer on Twitter said of the clip<\/a> after Page Six revealed Mulaney had gone to a Pennsylvania rehab for 60 days, \u201cIf you\u2019ve watched @sethmeyers lately you had to know something was up.\u201d <\/p>\n

Another wrote<\/a>, \u201cThree weeks ago I felt there was something seriously *off* with John Mulaney\u2019s appearance on Seth Meyers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yet another commentator wrote<\/a>, following the news of Mulaney\u2019s stint in rehab, \u201cHe just seemed very off in this segment and I was very confused it was odd to watch and see him like that but it makes sense now, unfortunately.\u201d<\/p>\n

A source told us that Mulaney was \u201cout of his mind\u201d on substances\u00a0around the time the segment was recorded\u00a0and it raised huge concerns about his health. Mulaney\u2019s rep declined to comment.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Page Six can also exclusively reveal that Mulaney\u2019s close circle of friends in the comedy world, including \u201cSNL\u201d guru Lorne Michaels and Pete Davidson, have been encouraging him to get help. <\/p>\n

An \u201cSNL\u201d source told us, \u201cHe has a tight inner circle of friends who have been incredibly supportive [by] encouraging him to get help and [staying] super tight-lipped.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\u201cTo everyone else, it wasn\u2019t as clear he was struggling, but he\u2019s been a rock to so many other people that everyone knows that he should get the help he needs.<\/p>\n

\u201cPete and Lorne have been incredibly helpful,\u201d the source says, \u201cMulaney is like an older brother to Pete and they always tour together.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
