There are plenty of video-calling app<\/a>s to choose from, but Google Duo might be the simplest. It works with the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, and even on the web in a browser. We\u2019ll show you how it works in the latter.<\/p>\n

Using Google Duo on the web is straightforward. All you have to do is sign in with the same credentials (including the phone number) you used to create your Duo account. You don\u2019t have to download any apps.<\/p>\n

First, go to duo.google.com<\/a> in a web browser, like Chrome.<\/p>\n

If you aren\u2019t signed in to your Google account, click \u201cTry Duo for Web.\u201d<\/p>\n

After you sign in, you\u2019ll be asked to verify your phone number. Make sure the number shown matches the one on your account, and then click \u201cNext.\u201d<\/p>\n

Google will send a text message to your phone with a verification code. Type that number to confirm your account. Click \u201cResend SMS\u201d or \u201cCall Me\u201d if you don\u2019t receive the message.<\/p>\n

Depending on which browser you\u2019re using, Google Duo might request permission to send notifications about incoming calls. Click \u201cGot It\u201d if you see this message and want to opt in.<\/p>\n

Click \u201cAllow\u201d in the pop-up requesting permission to \u201cShow Notifications.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now that you\u2019re signed in, you can use Duo to make or receive calls. Click \u201cStart a Call\u201d to search for someone by their phone number or email. Select \u201cCreate a Group Link\u201d to start a group call.<\/p>\n
