Chris Watts \u2014 the Colorado dad convicted of slaughtering his family \u2014 won\u2019t be having a merry Christmas behind bars.<\/p>\n

Watts, who killed his pregnant wife and two young daughters in August 2018, app<\/a>arently dreads spending the holiday season and New Year\u2019s at Dodge Correctional Institution in Wisconsin, People reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe doesn\u2019t like talking about his life before prison, but he has said that he used to be a huge fan of Christmas: decorating the house, spending time with family,\u201d a source told the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd he knows 100% that it\u2019ll never happen again, and that it\u2019s his own fault. He\u2019s in a hell of his own making.\u201d<\/p>\n

Watts, who is serving multiple life sentences for the murders, won\u2019t be able to find any comfort in the prison grub, either.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe prison has a \u2018Christmas dinner,\u2019 but it\u2019s basically bland turkey and potatoes,\u201d the source told the magazine. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not exactly the feast you\u2019d imagine for Christmas. In a sense, that\u2019s more depressing, because it reminds the inmates that it\u2019s Christmas and that they\u2019re getting an inferior copy of the holiday.\u201d<\/p>\n

Watts instead will reserve any holiday cheer for his pen pals, the source told the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019ll write his penpals this season, and they\u2019re sending him notes, as well,\u201d the source said. \u201cIt\u2019s literally all he can do at this point. He hates the holidays.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a deal that spared him the death penalty, Watts fessed up to strangling his 34-year-old wife, Shannan, then smothering their two daughters, Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Watts allegedly claimed he never would have killed his pregnant wife\u00a0and children if he hadn\u2019t met his co-worker mistress Nichol Kessinger.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
