This Georgia mail carrier is drawing Xs and Os on locals\u2019 index cards \u2014 and these little girls\u2019 hearts.<\/p>\n

After 6- and 7-year-old sisters Aria and Eva Jones started remote school in response to the coronavirus pandemic, their mailman began engaging them in tic-tac-toe matches during his morning rounds. <\/p>\n

\u201cThese girls haven\u2019t been able to go to school or see their classmates all year,\u201d USPS mail carrier Adam Finley told CNN<\/a> of the sisters, who live in Stone Mountain just east of Atlanta. \u201cI thought, \u2018What can I do to bring a smile to their faces? Something different, something to bring some excitement for the day.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Finley began leaving pieces of paper with tic-tac-toe boards and the girls\u2019 names in their mailbox, making his move every morning at 7:30 a.m. when he reached their home on his daily route. <\/p>\n

\u201cBoth girls have their own index card and play one move each day and wait until the next day for Mr. Adam\u2019s move,\u201d the girls\u2019 mother, Erin Jones, wrote in a Facebook post<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Recently, Aria beat Finley, but the postal worker \u2014 a father of two grown children himself \u2014 was no sore loser. \u201cMr. Adam knocked on our door at 7:30 at night with congratulatory bags of flavored popcorn and the promise of a rematch,\u201d Jones wrote. <\/p>\n

Other awards have included ice cream and general<\/a>ly \u201canything to make them smile,\u201d Finley told CNN, admitting that he lets them win. <\/p>\n

Despite working 12-hour shifts, Finley has found time to play the game with other neighborhood kids as well. \u201cWhen it\u2019s 7:30 in the morning and those girls are all excited waving at the door, that\u2019s my reward,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe USPS may have had a hard year, but there\u2019s no doubt in the Jones house that the Christmas spirit is alive and well because of one of their best employees,\u201d Jones concluded her heartwarming post. \u201cThank you, \u2018Mr. Adam,\u2019 for bringing such light to such a dark year.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
