Instead of this trend dying off and adjusting to the times, the streaming titan seems to deliver more and more dangerous men and promote toxic masculinity.<\/p>\n<p>Problematic men have been around since the beginning of time. Eventually, it became normal. Ross from\u00a0<em>Friends\u00a0<\/em>is a great example. A few saw it back then, but, love him or hate him, we can all see it now.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t get me wrong, I\u2019m a huge fan of\u00a0<em>Friends\u00a0<\/em>and always will be, but times are changing. Or are they? Not if Netflix has anything to say about it.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Netflixs_history_with_toxic_men\"><\/span>Netflix\u2019s history with toxic men<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><em>You\u00a0<\/em>is one of Netflix\u2019s most popular shows and the entire plot is about a man, Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), who stalks woman he supposedly \u201cfall in love\u201d with. Yet, when the show debuted, Joe became everyone\u2019s latest crush.<\/p>\n<p><em>Conversations With A Killer: Ted Bundy Tapes\u00a0<\/em>is another fine example. Though it\u2019s a documentary and not based on a character, that didn\u2019t stop Netflix viewers from falling for Ted Bundy\u2019s charm. The streaming titan even followed up with\u00a0<em>Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile,\u00a0<\/em>starring Zac Efron.<\/p>\n<p><em>13 Reasons Why<\/em>\u00a0and <em>Elite\u00a0<\/em>are other great examples, but the latest is\u00a0<em>365 Days,\u00a0<\/em>an erotic film. Massimo (Michele Morrone) essentially kidnaps a woman and gives her 365 days to fall in love with him. Enough said!
