QB Trevor Lawrence (Clemson)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jets fans are urged to cover their eyes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe could be better than Andrew Luck,\u201d Pauline said. \u201cI didn\u2019t think that going into the season, but he just elevates the play around him and he continually exceeds expectations, which is why I think he will probably be rated slightly higher than Andrew Luck was when Luck entered the draft.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI compared him to John Elway, Peyton Manning and then Andrew Luck,\u201d Reid said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>How does Lawrence compare as a producer with Joe Burrow, last year\u2019s first-overall pick?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBurrow was a real good quarterback prospect. \u2026 Trevor Lawrence is a franchise-type of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>-changer,\u201d Pauline said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" alt=\"Justin Fields; Trevor Lawrence; DeVonta Smith\" class=\"wp-image-16912486 lazyload\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/fields-lawrence-smith.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=300 300w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/fields-lawrence-smith.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=640 640w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/fields-lawrence-smith.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1280 1280w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/fields-lawrence-smith.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/fields-lawrence-smith.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=2000 2000w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Justin Fields; Trevor Lawrence; DeVonta Smith<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Getty Images (3)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>2. Justin Fields, Ohio State\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fields is battling to be the second QB taken.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe really struggles getting off that first read from time to time,\u201d Reid said. \u201cHe gets stuck on that first guy and he waits for him to come open as opposed to progressing through to the next guy, and what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ens is he holds the ball too long and he ends up taking big losses for a sack. But outside of that he has the arm strength that you\u2019re looking for, he has the leadership qualities that you love to see, and then of course his mobility, I think that\u2019s a big asset to his game as well.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGreat athlete, competitive guy, big arm, patient passer, a quarterback who can run, but runs only when necessary \u2014 he\u2019s not a running athlete who plays the quarterback position,\u201d Pauline said. \u201cProbably could have sat out this year, but really pushed the envelope to play this year. \u2026 He doesn\u2019t process things as quickly as you would like; makes some questionable decisions at times, but he\u2019s got a great amount of upside and he\u2019s got some terrific physical skills.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What if he was in the 2020 QB class?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s put it this way: Prior to the last two games [Northwestern, Indiana], I would have said he would be taken before Tua [Tagovailoa],\u201d Pauline said. \u201cI would say that he would be in the mix with Tua and Justin Herbert for that second, third, fourth quarterback selected.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>3. QB Zach Wilson, BYU:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wilson is battling Fields to be the second QB taken.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood arm, doesn\u2019t have a Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields arm, but his arm is good enough to make all the throws,\u201d Pauline said. \u201cAccurate, good pass placement, good speed, good timing on all of his passes. \u2026 The foot speed to make plays in or out of the pocket or pick up yards with his legs. \u2026 What\u2019s going on between his ears is right up there with Trevor Lawrence. He\u2019s a student of the game. I was told months ago that when Zach Wilson interviews in the pre-draft process, people are gonna be blown away by this guy. The only thing is he\u2019s a shorter (6-foot-2) quarterback.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Reid rated him a fifth-round prospect entering the season following shoulder surgery and a broken thumb. Now he gives Wilson the slight edge over Fields.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has those loose movements as far as his arm strength and just how the ball comes off his hand very violently,\u201d Reid said. \u201cThe competition that he\u2019s faced is something that is gonna be a huge question mark about him, but not for me.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Where would Wilson and Fields rank in the 2020 QB class?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think they probably be behind Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa, but they probably would be right in the mix of where Justin Herbert was as a prospect for me,\u201d Reid said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>4. LT Penei Sewell, Oregon:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think he\u2019s phenomenal as far as just how well his body is constructed, how much power he plays with, and then his combination of athleticism and awareness,\u201d Reid said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Is he strictly a left tackle?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReally he can play all five positions in my opinion, I think he has the athleticism and the smarts to do so,\u201d Reid said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a terrific pass protector, fundamentally sound, good footwork off the edge, you can get him out on the second level, you can pull him across the line of scrimmage and get him to block,\u201d Pauline said. \u201cHe should be able to start from Day 1.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Could he play RT? (Psst, Jets fans, wouldn\u2019t you like a bookend for Mekhi Becton? \u2026 Wrong time for this, you\u2019re still in mourning over Trevor Lawrence).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a Philadelphia Eagles-type of system, what they did with Lane Johnson, he has that ability,\u201d Pauline said. \u201cHe\u2019s not your classic punch-you-in-the-face, block-with-a-nasty-attitude, bury-you-in-the-ground run-blocking right tackle.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Where would he rank in last year\u2019s OT class?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProbably would have been the first tackle drafted,\u201d Pauline said. \u201cSomebody said to me in the league back in June, Penei Sewell can sit around for the next month and do nothing but eat cheese doodles and he\u2019s gonna be a top-five pick.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI liked [Jedrick] Wills and [Tristan] Wirfs better than him, honestly, so he probably would have been my third guy, ahead of Thomas and Becton,\u201d Reid said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>5. WR Ja\u2019Marr Chase, LSU\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cA player that just had that \u2018my ball\u2019 mentality that you love to see, he\u2019s just so gifted with going up and just physically dominating guys at the catch point,\u201d Reid said. \u201cHe can run any route in the route tree. Very strong hands.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is a dynamic, big-play receiver who also makes the ordinary, underneath reception, he\u2019s a good downfield blocker, doesn\u2019t have the great size, he\u2019s probably gonna measure under 6 feet tall,\u201d Pauline said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Where would Chase, who opted out this season, rank in last year\u2019s WR class?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe would have been the first receiver selected last year,\u201d Pauline said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>6. WR DeVonta Smith, Alabama:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is much more consistent than either Jerry Jeudy or Henry Ruggs,\u201d Pauline said. \u201cHe doesn\u2019t have the speed of Henry Ruggs, but he\u2019s fast enough. He doesn\u2019t have the same quickness or creativity of say Jerry Jeudy, but he\u2019s very good running after the catch. He is much more complete than those two Alabama receivers from a year ago.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Whereas Chase is a 5-11, 205-pounder, Smith is slightly under 6-1, 175.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a guy that plays faster than he runs. \u2026 He\u2019s probably gonna run maybe in the mid-4.4s, but he plays in the 4.3s,\u201d Pauline said. \u201cJeudy last year was not a guy who was good in confined quarters, Jeudy needed space. \u2026 DeVonta Smith will go up in a crowd and come down with the ball.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He reminds Reid of Marvin Harrison.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVery slender frame, very skinny \u2014 if he eats a cheeseburger every day for the rest of his life he probably won\u2019t gain another pound,\u201d Reid said. \u201cBut he plays much bigger than what his body frame does indicate. \u2026 He\u2019s fantastic with releases off of the line of scrimmage. \u2026 How he\u2019s able to dominate at the catch point, and it\u2019s not just going up and getting the ball, he makes the easy catches look routine, and then whenever he\u2019s in a crowd, he can just come down with the ball.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>7. LB Micah Parsons, Penn State:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He opted out of the season, but still will be a top pick.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe brings so much versatility,\u201d Reid said. \u201cHe came to Penn State as a defensive end. One thing he does need to work on is just seeing and diagnosing plays clean, and that\u2019s just because he\u2019s so raw. He can get a little bit lost as far as when offenses do a really good job of disguising those plays, his mind can wander a little bit just because he\u2019s so athletic, he can go the wrong direction at times.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" alt=\"Micah Parsons\" class=\"wp-image-16912511 lazyload\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/parsons.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=300 300w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/parsons.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=640 640w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/parsons.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1280 1280w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/parsons.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/parsons.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=2000 2000w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Micah Parsons<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Icon Sportswire via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Reid likes him as an inside linebacker or defensive end .\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIncredible athlete, a guy who runs like a defensive back, physical, aggressive, really attacks ball-handlers, great not only in a straight line but laterally, covers an amazing amount of space in pursuits. \u2026 My concern about him is his instincts are not polished,\u201d Pauline said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>8. TE Kyle Pitts, Florida\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlays the tight end position like he\u2019s a receiver (6-6, 246),\u201d Pauline said. Best TE prospect since who? \u201cVernon Davis,\u201d Pauline said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think he\u2019s a big wide receiver in a sense, but he can block,\u201d Reid said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>9. CB Patrick Surtain II, Alabama:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Son of three-time Pro Bowl corner Patrick Surtain.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a phenomenal athlete (6-2, 202), he\u2019s physical, he is nasty, good ball skills, needs to refine his technique at times,\u201d Pauline said. \u201cStruggles making plays with his back to the ball at times, will occasionally fall asleep.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA super-long corner,\u201d Reid said. \u201cHe has kinda like a safety body. The best part about his game is just how aggressive he is at the line of scrimmage, but it is in a controlled manner. Ultra-competitor at the catch point as well.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>10. Edge Greg Rousseau, Miami (Fla.)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Also opted out. Best pass rusher in the draft.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Reid compares him to Seahawks DE Carlos Dunlap.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cComing out of high school, he was a wide receiver and a safety,\u201d Reid said, \u201cand then he ended up switching to defensive end his final year in high school. He\u2019s really raw.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a bit one-dimensional,\u201d Pauline said. \u201cHe\u2019s a real good pass rusher, but he\u2019s a tall, skinny guy (6-4 \u00b9\/\u2082 , 255) who needs to get the first step off the snap. He reminds me a bit of Dee Ford. A couple of people have compared his style to Dion Jordan\u2019s.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>Pauline is also high on Purdue WR Rondale Moore, Tulsa LB Zaven Collins and Ohio State G Wyatt Davis. Reid is high on Alabama WR Jaylen Waddle and Virginia Tech CB Caleb Farley.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But, really, it\u2019s Trevor Lawrence and everybody else.\u00a0\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
