Oddly enough, however, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/blitzweekly.com\/dallas-mavericks-offer-special-merchandise-discounts-for-bitcoin-buyers\/\">report<\/a> Cuban linked to instead said that purchasers who buy more than $150 worth of gear using Bitcoin would receive a $25 gift card, and did not mention a 25% discount:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Want to spend your <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24BTC&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$BTC<\/a> somewhere&#8230; Spend it with the Mavs and get a 25 percent discount for using Bitcoin !<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/De7Y5f28s8\">https:\/\/t.co\/De7Y5f28s8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mark Cuban (@mcuban) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mcuban\/status\/1341770350766469121?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 23, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>This gift card offer, as well as a wider Mavericks policy of accepting Bitcoin as payment for tickets, strikes some observers as odd given Cuban\u2019s history of denigrating the asset. Earlier in 2020 he dusted off a zinger he first fired off in September of 2019: that he prefers bananas to Bitcoin as a commodity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Many have described coming around to Bitcoin\u2019s virtues as a store-of-value as a process and not an event, however, and Cuban seems to be taking the requisite steps. <\/p>\n<p>In a Tweet just today, Cuban seemed to praise Bitcoin\u2019s programmatic monetary policy, saying that publicly traded companies would be wise to restrict their share inflation:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Public companies should learn a lesson from BItcoin and commit to not issue new shares of stock.  Ever.
