Ron Wyden and ex-Rep. Chris Cox in USA Today<\/a>. Without the law, every one of the 200 million-plus Web sites available to Americans \u201cwill have to either stop publishing their users\u2019 contributions, or let \u2018anything go\u2019 \u2014 no matter how gross or illegal.\u201d Any \u201ccurating\u201d will leave platforms liable for everything posted, so \u201chosting user-created content will be too costly and risky,\u201d and \u201cthe many online avenues that ordinary citizens currently use to express themselves would be closed.\u201d So while \u201cCongress should examine whether it\u2019s possible to amend Section 230 without doing more harm than good,\u201d it must also remember that \u201csometimes those complaining about online speech are doing worse than crying wolf.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Leftist_Socialists_Will_Hike_Your_Taxes\"><\/span>Leftist: Socialists Will Hike Your Taxes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Victories this November by five <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a>ists vying for seats in the Legislature marked \u201ca huge show of power\u201d in New York electoral politics, Democratic Socialists of America member <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thenation.com\/article\/politics\/dsa-cuomo-new-york\/\">Liza Featherstone gushes at The Nation<\/a>. The \u201cfirst item\u201d on their agenda: \u201ctaxing the rich.\u201d The socialists have launched an \u201cinside\/outside\u201d strategy \u2014 \u201corganizing\u201d lawmakers and mobilizing the DSA to get \u201cthe grassroots to pressure Albany\u201d via \u201cphone banking\u201d and leafleting. Other pro-tax groups, like the Alliance for Quality Education, have formed a coalition called New York Budget Justice, and many labor unions have joined in the effort. Even Gov. Cuomo <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to be \u201cconceding\u201d the politically inevitable, suggesting tax hikes are now likely. Featherstone \u201ccan\u2019t wait to see what happens next.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Religion_beat_Chinas_Threat_to_the_Bible\"><\/span>Religion beat: China\u2019s Threat to the Bible<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.firstthings.com\/web-exclusives\/2020\/12\/chinas-threat-to-the-bible\">At First Things, Nina Shea worries<\/a> that \u201ca single Chinese company has a near monopoly on Bible printing, meaning that any rupture in the supply chain \u2014 say, from a US-China trade war \u2014 would lead to a Bible shortage in America.\u201d Amity Printing Co. in Nanjing is the world\u2019s largest Bible printer, which means that \u201cAmerican Christians rely on a state that represses Christianity for their Bibles.\u201d When President Trump imposed trade tariffs on China, \u201cAmerican Bible publishers found themselves alongside Beijing vociferously lobbying Washington against the measure,\u201d so it\u2019s no stretch to imagine that the ruling Chinese Communist Party could make these same publishers \u201csoft power assets of Beijing\u201d with a little pressure. \u201cAmerican Bible publishers can best preserve Americans\u2019 First Amendment rights \u2014 and their own reputations \u2014 by immediately shifting their printing out of China.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Iconoclast_The_Creepiest_Lockdown_Expert\"><\/span>Iconoclast: The Creepiest Lockdown Expert<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Britain\u2019s early lockdown champion, Imperial College epidemiologist Neil Ferguson, recently told The Times of London that he credits the Chinese \u00adregime\u2019s harsh response to the pandemic for preparing the way for the Western one. Yet to those who \u201cobject to lockdowns on civil-liberties principles,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/unherd.com\/thepost\/neil-ferguson-interview-china-changed-what-was-possible\/\">argues Unherd\u2019s Freddie Sayers<\/a>, \u201cthis will be a chilling reminder of the centrality of the authoritarian Chinese model in influencing global policy in this historic year.\u201d That Ferguson\u2019s worst predictions didn\u2019t come to pass makes it all the worse. His March 16 paper \u201cforecast that in a scenario without interventions, 81 percent of the UK population would become infected, and that 0.9 percent of them would die, i.e. 510,000 fatalities.\u201d Yet data from the Brazilian city often held up as the counter-example of what would have happened without interventions doesn\u2019t \u201ccome close to the Ferguson projections.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Computer_expert_The_Lefts_Drive_To_%E2%80%98Bias_AI\"><\/span>Computer expert: The Left\u2019s Drive To \u2018Bias\u2019 AI<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Having algorithms \u201cincapable of bias\u201d make decisions rather\u00a0than humans should be cause to celebrate, reasons computer-<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a> prof <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/spectator.us\/militant-liberals-politicizing-artificial-intelligence\/\">Pedro Domingos at Spectator USA<\/a>. But \u201cmilitant\u201d liberals are scrambling to retake control. \u201cA whole subfield of AI has sprung up\u201d for the express purpose of \u201cde-biasing\u201d algorithms, and anyone who questions it, as Domingos has, is subject to the cancel culture, as he was.
