A woman in\u00a0California<\/a>\u00a0was\u00a0in serious condition after her vehicle plunged off a cliff onto a beach on Christmas morning.<\/p>\n

The unidentified woman\u2019s car\u00a0careened over a bluff\u00a0in\u00a0San Francisco\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0Fort Funston area, the fire department said.<\/p>\n

Officials said the woman was \u201cmiraculously in stable condition\u201d when they arrived and was transported to a nearby trauma center, The\u00a0Mercury News<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n

Videos and photos from the scene showed the car upside-down on the beach.<\/p>\n

The tide was out, allowing\u00a0first responders to reach the woman and place her on a stretcher. It was not immedia<\/a>tely clear what caused the woman\u2019s car to veer off the road.<\/p>\n

The cliffs at Fort Funston, a former harbor defense installation in San Francisco, are\u00a0a popular spot for hikers and hang-gliders, the Mercury News<\/a> reported.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
