Gloomy Bear, a grizzly mascot character created by Osakan artist Mori Chack, is going to maul his owner in animated form beginning in April of 2021 because the "creepy kawaii", 2-meter tall wild animal is now the subject of an upcoming TV anime entitled Gloomy The Naughty Grizzly<\/em><\/strong> (aka Itazura no Gloomy<\/em> in Japan). Preview videos and key visuals (below) have been published for the series<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Debuting in 2000, the Gloomy Bear merchandise line focuses on the relationship between Gloomy and his owner, Pity, a relationship which is "full of cuteness, violence, and surprising emotional depth". Pity loves Gloomy very much, but Gloomy is a still a wild animal, so he tends to claw and bite Pity without mercy.<\/p>\n

In the Gloomy The Naughty Grizzly<\/em><\/strong> TV anime, Yuudai Kubota serves as director while voice actors Koichi Yamadera (Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop<\/em><\/strong>) and Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro Kamado in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/a>) will provide the voices of Gloomy and Pity, respectively.<\/p>\n
