You really\u00a0can<\/em>\u00a0buy anything at\u00a0Costco.<\/p>\n

The warehouse club is selling at-home saliva tests to screen for COVID-19, available in select markets and promoted in partnership with Bermuda for an easier island getaway.<\/p>\n

The Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) and the Government of\u00a0Bermuda recently announced\u00a0the news,<\/a>\u00a0touting the British territory as \u201cthe first international destination to partner with Costco in this way\u2026 to easily use PCR saliva screening as an acceptable pre-arrival test.\u201d<\/p>\n

The self-administered, PCR saliva tests\u00a0retail for $140<\/a>, managed by Costco Pharmacy and AZOVA Health. After taking the test with video observation, consumers will receive results through the HIPAA-secure AZOVA app<\/a> within 12 to\u00a048 hours of the lab receiving the kit. At this time, travelers to Bermuda must take a coronavirus test no more than five days before their departure \u2014\u00a0so plan ahead.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe this marks a major step forward in facilitating access to pre-travel testing required for\u00a0Bermuda\u00a0visitors \u2014 it will be offered across the US, including major tourism markets with direct air service to the island,\u201d said Glenn Jones, BTA Interim CEO. \u201cThe prospect for travel is still difficult for many. Every day we\u2019re working to make it a little easier.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before the year\u2019s end, the tests will be available for purchase at over 100 Costco locations, with New York and Boston-area superstores among the first stocked. From there, pharmacists at select Costco pharmacies will also be able to observe shoppers self-administering the COVID-19 tests to streamline the process.<\/p>\n

Making things even easier, a Costco membership is not required to use the test service online or in-stores. The test is also approved for Hawaii\u2019s trusted testing partner program.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re proud to serve as an essential part of\u00a0Bermuda\u2019s\u00a0initiative to expand COVID-19 testing options for its travelers to include 120 markets around Costco warehouses and on Costco.com,\u201d said Victor Curtis, Costco senior vice president of pharmacy.<\/p>\n

To date, 553 cases of coronavirus and nine\u00a0deaths,\u00a0have been reported on the island, according to\u00a0the\u00a0government of Bermuda.<\/a>\u00a0Bermuda reopened to tourists in July.\n <\/div>\n
