Hilaria Baldwin seemed bleary-eyed and on the verge of tears as she app<\/a>arently vowed on Instagram on Sunday to take a \u201clong\u2019\u2019 break from the site amid accusations she has pretended to be Spanish \u2014 and lasted all of three hours before posting eight more times.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said my piece. I\u2019m gonna \u2026 I\u2019m so tired,\u2019\u2019 the beleaguered hip-bending wife of actor Alec Baldwin said in a video<\/a> posted around 2 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to go back to my family because I\u2019ve not been a very good mommy, spending a lot of time focusing on this,\u2019\u2019 the 36-year-old mother of five said. \u201cI\u2019m going to sign off for a long time.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

She then proceeded to post a slew of photos, including some of her kids and a sunset, Sunday into Monday.<\/p>\n

The yoga instructor found herself in a twist when Twitter user @lenibrisco wrote<\/a> last week, \u201cYou have to admire Hilaria Baldwin\u2019s commitment to her decade long grift where she impersonates a Spanish person.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tweet sparked an online uproar as a deluge of people began questioning Hilaria\u2019s heritage and her at the very least questionable murky past behavior involving her ancestry.<\/p>\n

Video began popping up <\/a>of Hilaria alternately speaking with a thick Spanish accent and seamless English \u2014 while her biography page on one of her own websites<\/a> says she \u201cwas born in Mallorca, Spain and raised in Boston, Massachusetts.\u201d<\/p>\n

The yoga expert was finally forced to take to Instagram early Sunday to cop to being a white girl from Boston who changed her name from Hillary.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes I am a white girl, my family is white \u2026 Europe has a lot of white people in them,\u2019\u2019 Hilaria said on the video.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s been some questions about where I\u2019m born, I\u2019m born in Boston,\u2019\u2019 she added. \u201cI spent some of my childhood in Boston, some of my childhood in Spain, my family, my brother, my parents, my nephew, everybody is over there in Spain now. I\u2019m here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, \u201cethnically, I am a mix of many, many things,\u2019\u2019 the celeb insisted.<\/p>\n

On her name switch, she said, \u201cWhen I was growing up, in this country I would use the name Hillary, and in Spain, I would use Hilaria, and my family, my parents, call me Hilaria.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said that a few years before she met her husband, she decided some things needed to be \u201cconsolidated\u2019\u2019 in her life, so she switched to Hilaria for both cultures because that\u2019s what her parents, David Thomas and Dr. Kathryn Hayward, call her.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the things I love about what my parents called me, it means \u2018happy\u2019 in both languages,\u2019\u2019 she said of the name Hilaria. \u201cWe can all be really clear that it\u2019s the same name [as Hillary]. It\u2019s just a few letters different. We shouldn\u2019t be so upset about it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhatever you guys want to call me, I will respond to both,\u201d Hilaria said \u2014 adding, \u201cUltimately, this boils down to this idea where this is a country of a lot of different cultures, and I think that we can be different parts of ourselves with different people.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am somebody who I feel really lucky that I grew up with two cultures, I grew up speaking two languages,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

As for her vacillating accent, Hilaria said, \u201cI am that person, if I\u2019ve been speaking a lot of Spanish, I tend to mix them or if I\u2019m speaking a lot of English, I mix that, it\u2019s one of those things I\u2019ve always been a bit insecure about.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said she tries to \u201cenunciate\u201d for work but added that if she becomes \u201cnervous or upset,\u201d she starts to mix the two languages. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not something I\u2019m playing at. \u2026 I want that to be very, very clear,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Just before the later Instagram video Sunday in which Hilaria claimed to be too overwhelmed with the ancestry fallout to continue to post, she put up what appeared to be a text from her brother<\/a> \u2014 written to her in Spanish.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t have to explain more to anyone,\u2019\u2019 the note said. \u201cYou were a girl born in Boston raised with two cultures, and you are you, unique and marvelous.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Hilaria wrote above the text in English, \u201cWhen I\u2019m sad, I always have my big brother.<\/p>\n

\u201cTe quiero mucho, hermano,\u2019\u2019 she added \u2014 Spanish for \u201cI love you a lot, brother.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
