{"id":143428,"date":"2020-12-29T03:00:28","date_gmt":"2020-12-29T00:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/manhattan-da-probing-alleged-assault-on-keyon-harrold-jr\/"},"modified":"2020-12-29T03:00:28","modified_gmt":"2020-12-29T00:00:28","slug":"manhattan-da-probing-alleged-assault-on-keyon-harrold-jr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/manhattan-da-probing-alleged-assault-on-keyon-harrold-jr\/","title":{"rendered":"#Manhattan DA probing alleged assault on Keyon Harrold Jr."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Manhattan DA probing alleged assault on Keyon Harrold Jr.<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/Keyon-Harrold-Jr.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Manhattan prosecutors said Monday they are probing claims that a woman falsely accused a 14-year-old black boy of stealing her cellphone, then attacked him, in a caught-on-camera confrontation that has gone viral.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur office is thoroughly investigating this incident,\u201d said DA spokesman Danny Frost.<\/p>\n<p>The development comes after teen Keyon Harrold Jr.\u2019s parents called for authorities to bring charges against the unidentified woman over the disturbing Saturday encounter at the Arlo Hotel in Soho.<\/p>\n<p>The teen\u2019s father, prominent Jazz trumpeter Keyon Harrold, posted<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CJR6LviHFkd\/\"> footage of the incident<\/a> to his Instagram account, which shows the woman frantically telling the hotel manager that the boy took her phone before she lunges at him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTake the case off, that\u2019s mine. Literally, get it back,\u201d she says to a hotel manager in the clip.<\/p>\n<p>A few minutes later, the woman\u2019s missing phone was returned by an Uber driver, according to the New York-based musician\u2019s Instagram post.<\/p>\n<p>The family\u2019s lawyer, Ben Crump, said it was especially troubling that the hotel manager allegedly tried to force Harrod Jr. to show his phone to the stranger to prove he wasn\u2019t a thief.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier Monday, the lawyer demanded that Manhattan prosecutors  bring assault and battery charges against the woman to \u201csend the message that hateful, racially motivated behavior is unacceptable.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>He also called for a civil-rights investigation into the hotel for the manager\u2019s alleged biased treatment of the teen.\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async defer src=\"https:\/\/platform.instagram.com\/en_US\/embeds.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
