Is Congress trying to see how low its public-app<\/a>roval ratings can go? It\u2019s not just that congressmen, no matter how vulnerable, were getting the COVID-19 vaccine before needier folks; now it has announced that more than 1,000 staffers will also get the vaccine ahead of others.<\/p>\n

Yes, many staffers play an important role in congressional operations. But three-quarters are under 40 years old, putting them at low risk. And they seem to have managed for the past nine months with no vaccine; surely they can wait another few.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, deliverymen, truly essential workers, the elderly and immuno-compromised face real danger with every day they don\u2019t have access to the vaccine.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s just one more example of pols\u2019 treating themselves better than everyone else: They\u2019ve imposed lockdowns that spell death for businesses, then break the rules themselves. They stuff pricey pork for donors and special-interests into bills like the COVID relief package, while much of the nation struggles to make ends meet. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s said \u201cNo man\u2019s life, liberty or property is safe while the Legislature is in session.\u201d Maybe they should all just go home.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
