The man shot and killed by Minneapolis police during a traffic stop Wednesday has been identified as Dolal Idd, according to a report.<\/p>\n

Idd was identified by his father, who showed up among a crowd of people who gathered Thursday at the scene of the 6:15 p.m. shooting at 36th Street and Cedar Avenue, KMSP-TV said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bayle Gelle, of Eden Prairie, said his family believes his son was \u201csitting in his car\u201d when he was shot by cops \u2014 disputing the claim by police that he fired at officers first. <\/p>\n

Gelle said the family was particularly upset with the way they were treated when police showed up at the family home with a search warrant hours after the incident, the station reported.<\/p>\n

Authorities have yet to officially identify the man.<\/p>\n

Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo said at a briefing that officers attempted to pull over the man\u2019s car when he fired at cops and they returned fire.<\/p>\n

Arradando said he would release bodycam footage of the shooting on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The incident was the first police-involved death since the May 25 police-custody death of George Floyd, who died while being pinned down by officers.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
