A Pakistani man has been detained for riding through the streets of Peshawar wearing a werewolf mask<\/a> to scare people on New Year\u2019s Eve, the Indian Express reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Asad Khan, a resident of the city\u2019s Moti neighborhood, was reportedly making roaring noises while riding his motorcycle, according to the outlet, which cited Saama TV.<\/p>\n

The furry suspect had a bone to pick with police, saying he wasn\u2019t trying to frighten anyone \u2013 but was merely obeying the government\u2019s mandate to wear a mask amid the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

Social media<\/a> users howled at the images of the short man, who is seen on his bike and chained later to a police officer \u2013 still wearing the grotesque mask.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe he didn\u2019t want to take risk in such epidemic. That mask is a foolproof weapon for fighting against Covid-19,\u201d one user said on Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Another wrote: \u201cPeople get scared of the dude and don\u2019t come out on new year during Covid times, everyone stays safe. Isn\u2019t this a good thing?\u201d<\/p>\n

And a third said in a tweet<\/a> that man \u201cwas reported to the police by a girl wearing a red riding hood.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear if the suspect has been charged.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
