Actor Kirk Cameron held yet another maskless event on New Year\u2019s Eve in defiance of COVID-19 regulations \u2014 this time to \u201cpray for our country.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cGrowing Pains\u201d star \u2014 and outspoken anti-mask advocate \u2014 hosted the get-together in Malibu, California, despite warnings from local officials to stay home.<\/p>\n

\u201cHapp<\/a>y New Year to everyone. I am going into 2021 with a plan and a purpose, and full of hope,\u201d Cameron posted on his Instagram, <\/a>along with a four-minute video of himself giving an impassioned speech at the Point Mugu outing.<\/p>\n

Overhead footage of the event taken by ABC shows <\/a>dozens packed closely on the beach without masks.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re hoping that we\u2019re going to have hundreds of people here. Please come and join us by candlelight as we sing and as we pray for our country,\u201d Cameron said on Instagram.<\/p>\n

State Sen. Henry Stern said he wrote to Cameron begging him to \u201cplease stay home on New Year\u2019s Eve.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re too busy fighting this peaking pandemic to even mourn our fallen,\u201d Stern tweeted<\/a>, along with a screengrab of his note to the \u201980s star. \u201cPlease don\u2019t make us spend more time or safety resources on profiteering\/PR disguised as prayer\/protest.\u201d<\/p>\n
