“#New Year’s Day car crash in NYC leaves couple dead<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

A couple was killed in a New Year\u2019s Day car crash in Queens caused by a pickup truck whose driver bolted on foot after the wreck, police said. <\/p>\n

The Dodge Ram barreled into a Nissan Rogue \u2014 pinning the doomed pair inside \u2014 just after 5 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Rockaway Freeway and Ocean Crest Boulevard in Far Rockaway, according to cops.<\/p>\n

The driver of the Nissan SUV, a 60-year-old woman, and a 57-year-old man in the passenger seat were rushed to St. John\u2019s Episcopal Hospital but could not be saved, cops said. Their names haven\u2019t been released pending family notification. <\/p>\n

The truck driver climbed out of the Dodge and took off before cops arrived, according to police.<\/p>\n

His two passengers, men ages 37 and 33, stayed behind in the truck, cops said.<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old was taken to\u00a0Jamaica Hospital for injuries to his leg and head.<\/p>\n
