\n A Bronx mom was sentenced to up to seven years in prison in a murder-for-hire plot to kill her son\u2019s romantic rival so he wouldn\u2019t testify about her son allegedly shooting him, officials announced Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Annette Spann copped to a conspiracy charge for hiring a hitman \u2014 actually an undercover cop \u2014 for $1,000 on Nov. 14 to whack a 20-year-old victim whom her son, Candido Lizarro, was accused of shooting six times, the Bronx District Attorney\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n

The 45-year-old mom \u2014 who pleaded guilty on March 26 \u2014 was sentenced to 2 1\/3 to 7 years in prison by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Robert Neary in a video hearing Wednesday. She will receive seven months\u2019 credit toward her sentence after having been held in Rikers since her Nov. 22 arrest, the DA\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old son allegedly shot his neighbor following a spat the pair had in their Bronx apartment building over a woman on Sept. 2, sources said at the time.<\/p>\n

Fearing the victim would recover \u2014 which he eventually did \u2014 Lizarro allegedly went on the lam and enlisted his mom to help kill his victim, prosecutors have said.<\/p>\n

Lizarro was picked up in Florida on Dec. 11 and extradited to the Bronx, where his case is still pending, the office said.<\/p>\n

Lizarro is being held without bail, according to court records.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe defendant, a Bronx mother whose son allegedly shot a man, hired a hitman to finish the job,\u201d DA Darcel Clark said in a statement. \u201cThe defendant will now go to prison for trying to end someone\u2019s life and for trying to subvert the criminal justice system.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spann\u2019s lawyer, Kyle Watters, told The Post that his client \u201cexpressed today that she is remorseful and she got tied up in something where she was trying to help her son and she behaved badly and feels bad about it.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe said she wants to pay her debt, do her time and get out and get her life back on track.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
