A woman is in critical condition after being shot multiple times in East Elmhurst Saturday afternoon, police said.<\/p>\n

The victim was shot at 32-17 97th Street at 3:45 p.m. by a man wearing blue jeans and a beige jacket, authorities said, and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition. No further details were immedia<\/a>tely available.<\/p>\n

The woman may have been struck in the abdomen, according to first responder radio transmissions.<\/p>\n

The shooting was the second reported in the borough within 12 hours.<\/p>\n

In that instance, a Queens man was shot as he answered his front door early Saturday \u2014 the only shooting overnight in the five boroughs, cops said.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information on the shootings is asked to call the NYPD\u2019s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).<\/p>\n

The gunfire comes on the heels of Friday morning\u2019s bloodshed, where one person was killed and two others injured in a\u00a0trip<\/a>le shooting\u00a0outside a Queens hotel, marking the first homicide of 2021, cops said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
