“#One Piece Character Global Popularity Contest Launched by Shueisha<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

In celebration of the <\/span>One Piece<\/span><\/i> manga<\/a> series<\/a>\u2019 1000th chapter, publisher Shueisha launched a <\/span>worldwide character popularity contest<\/span><\/a>. The poll launched on January 3, 2021 at 7 AM PST and will close on February 28, 2021.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Fans from all over the world can vote once per day and can receive a random AR model of a character. The AR model details will be updated throughout the campaign. Shueisha also plans to release the Top 100 results in each region.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The manga is written by Eiichiro Oda and released a statement in commemoration of the 1000th chapter.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c1000 Chapters!! <\/em>I, uh, wow\u2026Words pretty much fail to describe the whirlwind these past 23 years have been. Literally half <\/em>of my life has revolved around the almighty \u2018WEEKLY SERIALIZATION\u2019 hehe. But it\u2019s not just me, Luffy <\/em>and the Strawhats have navigated themselves to so many different islands and found themselves caught <\/em>up in so many adventures. At this point, even I\u2019m not sure how many lives they\u2019ve touched along the way! <\/em>But it\u2019s thanks to them that so many special people have entered my own life; first and foremost among <\/em>them being my family. All of these people have supported me through the years and I am deeply indebted <\/em>to each of them. Meanwhile, my readers have been leading their own bustling lives. There\u2019s a certain <\/em>theory that exists for long-term readership in the entertainment world that states, \u201cA given pool of readers <\/em>will rotate out of a series after five years.\u201d And so for a while now, I\u2019ve avoided calling my readers, \u2018fans\u2019. <\/em>It\u2019s like they say, \u201cPride cometh before a fall.\u201d I convinced myself that I shouldn\u2019t get too full of myself <\/em>because my readers would eventually leave the series and move on with their lives. Let me say that all of <\/em>you have put me to shame for thinking such a thing. Your belief in Luffy has led me to believe in all of you, <\/em>and that is what allows me to continue drawing exactly the kind of manga I want to draw. So here we are, <\/em>ready to dip our toes into the final stages of the story. It\u2019s taken us a long time to reach one thousand<\/em><\/span>
chapters. However, it\u2019s because I\u2019ve completed a thousand chapters that you must believe I\u2019ll take us to <\/em>the end. The story waiting for you will defy expectations! I mean it!! <\/em>I have a favor to ask. This is for everyone with whom \u2014by some means or another\u2014 I\u2019ve managed to <\/em>create a bond, in other words, the ONE PIECE FANS of the world! My story is a long one. But for just a <\/em>while longer, please watch over Luffy and his crew as they continue their adventure!<\/em><\/span>
