Synthetix co-founder\u2019s siblings reveal blockchain <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> project <\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content\" data-v-5a136f3a>A fledgling blockchain-based game project called Illuvium has already managed to attract support from major industry backers \u2014 a development owed in part to the fact that Illuvium co-founders Kieran and Aaron Warwick are the brothers of Kain Warwick, the co-founder of decentralized finance (DeFi) platform Synthetix.<\/p>\n<p>In a tweet on Friday, Kain announced that \u201cafter two years of pressure,\u201d his brothers were revealing to the world a blockchain-based game:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Extremely excited that after years of pressure two of my brothers are launching a crypto NFT game <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/illuviumio?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@illuviumio<\/a>. Also as promised I just finished that $1m <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chainlink?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@chainlink<\/a> market buy into Kain.eth via <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/1inchExchange?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@1inchExchange<\/a>. I\u2019m going offline for 2 weeks now enjoy the start of 2021! <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LMb5YkJbtr\">https:\/\/t.co\/LMb5YkJbtr<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 kain.eth (@kaiynne) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kaiynne\/status\/1345183917872037888?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 2, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>In an interview with Cointelegraph, Kieran Warwick clarified that development work has only been underway since September, and that the \u201ctwo years\u201d refers to the length of time Kain had been badgering Kieran to re-enter crypto full time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI left to found a startup in the food industry in 2016, [and] in hindsight maybe not the best call,\u201d Kieran admitted. <\/p>\n<p>Despite the late uptake, the few resources released to the public already promise a title with myriad influences. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-01\/f86ec679-0966-4a0f-818b-bcb1c894cbbf.png\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe two genres that we have drawn the most inspiration from are collectible RPGs (such as Pokemon) and Auto Battlers (like Teamfight Tactics or Dota Underlords). As far as aesthetics we are going for a stylised feel that sits somewhere between the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/anime-manga\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"6\" title=\"Anime || Manga\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">manga<\/a> style of RPG and more hyper realistic games,\u201d said Kieran.<\/p>\n<p>Gameplay will also feature some unique twists utilizing a yield farming program for the native ILV token, as well as deploying NFTs in innovative ways that may influence the strategy behind collecting game assets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe use a fusion mechanism where three Illuvial NFTs are burned by the user to mint a more powerful Illuvial NFT. This mechanism is common in Auto Battlers, but by employing smart contracts to control minting and burning we\u2019ve introduced more certainty for collectors and players.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While the ambition is sprawling, the Warwick brothers are bringing extensive ecosystem heft to bear. Kieran says that\u00a0 \u201csix of the top DeFi founders\u201d have invested in Illuvium\u2019s pre-seed round \u2014 presumably including Kain. Illuvium will also be built using a layer-2 scaling solution from Immutable, the development studio behind\u00a0hit NFT card game Gods Unchained.<\/p>\n<p>Kieran says he\u2019s hoping to leverage these connections to create a gaming experience that empowers players. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the most frustrating experiences as a gamer is feeling like a consumer of a game rather than a participant, and while many game studios have improved on this over the last few years by handing more control to their communities there is no way to have the level of community ownership that we are going to provide in the traditional gaming world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To ensure this community ownership, Kieran said that Illuvium will be governed by a DAO, enabling players to control gameplay tweaks and balancing.
