Pretty cheeky.<\/p>\n

A British man tried to sneak a samosa into jail by hiding it between his buttocks, police said in a recent report.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police said discovering the fried pastry was one of the most unusual incidents of 2020, Birmingham Live reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had a few odd incidents,\u201d Inspector Manj Ahir told the website. <\/p>\n

\u201cOne that sticks in my mind was a man found with a samosa secreted between his buttocks during a search.\u201d<\/p>\n

The hungry detainee app<\/a>arently acted out of fear that he wouldn\u2019t be able to get any decent food after being arrested.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said he wanted to sneak it into the cell as a snack as he\u2019d didn\u2019t think the food was up to much,\u201d Ahir said. <\/p>\n

The cop quipped: \u201cHe\u2019d obviously not read our positive Trip<\/a>advisor reviews!\u201d<\/p>\n

Another odd arrest involved a man in his 40s who came back to jail after being released \u2014 with a box of chocolates to thank the staff.<\/p>\n

The man, who had been booked on assault charges, had type 2 diabetes, so officers went to his home to bring him his medicine. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe also saw an alcohol referral worker as he\u2019d had a drink for the first time in six years, which he believed led to the arrest,\u201d Ahir recalled.<\/p>\n

A few days later, he turned back up to the cell block \u201cwith chocolates to say thanks for the care he received from the staff.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a lovely gesture,\u201d the inspector said.<\/p>\n

The weird incidents were among more than 45,000 arrests that cops in West Midlands made over the course of last year, the report said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a year like no other for us with significant demand, processing an average of 126 detainees a day, while adhering to COVID-19 protocols,\u201d Ahir said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe team have done brilliantly, though,\u201d he added.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
