\u200bSen. Ted Cruz said he considers the big tech behemoths the largest threats to \u201cfree and fair elections\u201d in the country because of their oversized influence, but Google tops the list because of its global reach.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think hands down Google is the most dangerous company on the face of the planet. Google is the most dangerous because it\u2019s the biggest by far. It is the most powerful by far. It controls the vast majority of searches people do,\u201d the Texas Republican told Breitbart News<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Cruz, who notably got into a heated exchange with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey during a Senate hearing in November over The Post\u2019s reporting about Hunter Biden, deemed the social media platform \u201cthe most brazen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just recently had a hearing where Jack Dorsey testified with a beard that looked like he had crawled out from under a bridge,\u201d Cruz said, referring to the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing about censorship and Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act that provides big tech with liability protections when it posts third-party content.<\/p>\n

Cruz grilled Dorsey about why Twitter decided to censor The Post\u2019s stories about Hunter Biden\u2019s overseas business dealings in the days before the Nov. 3 election.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked Mr. Dorsey at that hearing, \u2018Who the hell elected you and put you in charge of what we\u2019re allowed to read?\u2019 Look, Twitter brazenly censored the New York Post when it ran stories about Hunter Biden and Joe Biden\u2019s corruption concerning China, concerning Ukraine and Russia, and they just silenced it,\u201d Cruz said during the interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot only did they prevent you and I from circulating those stories, for two weeks, they banned the New York Post,\u201d he continued. \u201cThe New York Post is not some fly-by-night organization. It is the news<\/a>paper with the fourth-highest circulation in the country. It was founded by Alexander freakin\u2019 Hamilton.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cruz, who is among a group of Senate Republicans who plan to contest the certification of the Electoral College count on Wednesday in Congress, was in Georgia on Saturday to campaign for incumbent GOP Sen. Kelly Loeffler.<\/p>\n

He was more forgiving to Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will give some degree of credit that Mark Zuckerberg at least acknowledges the need to protect free speech,\u201d Cruz said. \u201cI think he\u2019s benefited because Twitter and Google are so rotten that even though Facebook\u2019s pretty bad, just saying free speech is important makes him app<\/a>ear markedly better than his rivals, but all three are very serious concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n

Loeffler is facing off against Democrat the Rev. Raphael Warnock in one of two runoff elections in Georgia on Tuesday that will determine which party controls the Senate.<\/p>\n

Cruz and 10 of his GOP colleagues said they will not vote to certify the Electoral College tally unless a congressional panel conducts a 10-day audit of alleged voter fraud in the 2020 election.<\/p>\n

President-elect Joe Biden won 306 electoral votes compared to President Trump\u2019s 232.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
