There, the \u201cspirits\u201d informed her that her son would die, although they didn\u2019t say when or how.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Neal was already a medical doctor at the time, and she described herself as \u201cculturally Christian\u201d in a casual way. There\u2019s a lot of suggestive evidence that it can. We can\u2019t provide hardcore answers, but we can show what it\u2019s like for people to go on this journey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the years since her near-death experience, Neal has studied common theories for it such as the hypothesis that a lack of oxygen to the brain causes hallucinations that produce \u201cafterlife\u201d sensations. She says she does not find merit in them. <\/p>\n<p>She compares studying the afterlife to studying love.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you look at love, for example, we can study it scientifically and see the consequences of love, but we can\u2019t \u2018prove\u2019 love. But proving that there is continuation of consciousness, frankly, I think has already been done.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are no straight answers, and that\u2019s part of the show\u2019s appeal, according to Stern. \u201cWe didn\u2019t go into this series wanting to debunk or prove or disprove,\u201d Stern said. \u201cWe went in with a lot of questions, and we hope that people leave asking more.\u201d\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
