A pair of Connecticut cops who were busted together inside a Norwalk hotel room while on duty are now facing criminal charges.<\/p>\n

But police won\u2019t say why. <\/p>\n

Officers Sara Laudano, 31, and Michael Dimeglio, 38, were suspended after they were nabbed inside the Even Hotel on Oct. 10 while \u201cnot in a condition to respond to calls for service,\u201d city officials said on Facebook<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Police brass put the two cops on administrative leave and launched an investigation that later led to arrest warrants being issued \u2014 but they\u2019re still mum on details of the sordid incident.<\/p>\n

Both officers surrendered Tuesday to face charges of larceny and reckless endangerment, and both were ordered held on $75,000 bonds.<\/p>\n

However, Laudano, a five-year veteran of the department was also charged with risk of injury to a child in the case. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhile I am app<\/a>alled at the behavior of the conduct that was exhibited by these officers while in an on-duty capacity, I am proud of the professional manner in which the patrol supervisors of this department initiated this complaint,\u201d Police Chief Thomas Kulhawik said in the statement. \u201cWe have a high expectation of our officers.\u201d <\/p>\n

According to police, the incident began to unfold when police dispatchers couldn\u2019t reach Laudano on her radio or her mobile phone shortly before 1 a.m. Oct. 10.<\/p>\n

Police located her squad car using the vehicle\u2019s tracking device and sent an officer to the scene \u2014 which turned out to be the hotel, the department said.<\/p>\n

Supervisors were dispatched to the Main Avenue site when Dimeglio\u2019s squad car was also spotted in the parking lot \u2014 and a hotel manager said the pair were in a room.<\/p>\n

Detectives then launched an investigation \u2014 which led to the arrests.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a result of the information uncovered regarding the scope of the conduct of the officers in the hours leading up to being located\u2026 a determination was made that the conduct exhibited was beyond departmental policy violations and a criminal investigation was warranted,\u201d the police statement said.<\/p>\n

But the department added that, \u201cwe will have no further comment until after the disciplinary process is complete.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
