An NYPD officer was arrested in the Bronx early Wednesday for harassing someone on the phone, authorities said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Michael Mercurio, 36, lashed out at a representative from an office he was calling for personal matters on Tuesday, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That person reported the incident to police, and Mercurio turned himself in at an Internal Affairs Bureau in the Bronx at around midnight Wednesday, authorities said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He was hit with an aggravated harassment charge and suspended without pay from the department, the NYPD confirmed.<\/p>\n
