\n The number of coronavirus cases reported in the US on Wednesday hit record levels not seen since April, a report found.<\/p>\n

Health departments across the country recorded more than 36,000 new infections \u2014 breaking the previous single-day record of 34,203 set on April 25, according to a tally by The Washington Post.<\/p>\n

The states reporting the largest uptick were Florida, Texas and California, with more than 5,000 new cases apiece.<\/p>\n

Three states, California, Florida and Oklahoma, hit\u00a0 new records in the number of infections recorded over a 24-hour span.<\/p>\n

Hospitalization peaked in Arizona, including a big jump in inpatient beds, according to the Arizona Republic.<\/p>\n

There are now more than 2.3 million COVID-19 cases in the US and at least 121,000 deaths. Globally, the number of infections has surpassed 9 million.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
