One Eagles star has a message for the Giants: Look in the mirror.<\/p>\n

Super Bowl LII playmaker Brandon Graham responded to all the criticism directed at his team for the decision to bench starting quarterback Jalen Hurts for bumbling third-stringer Nate Sudfeld in the fourth quarter of a three-point game<\/a> last week. By handing Washington an easy win, the Eagles eliminated the Giants from playoff contention.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf people have a problem with it, don\u2019t put yourself in that situation,\u201d Graham said on 94 WIP radio<\/a> in Philadelphia. \u201cThe Giants, don\u2019t put yourself in that position. Win your game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like so many, Graham is confusing two different points.<\/p>\n

Giants players, coach Joe Judge and owner John Mara all first said it is their own fault they are not in the playoffs because a 6-10 record and leaving their fate in another team\u2019s hands is not good enough.<\/p>\n

But Judge spoke for so many Giants fans \u2013 as well as some Eagles alumni and coaches and players across the league \u2013 when he criticized Eagles coach Doug Pederson (not by name) for not giving his team the best chance to win for 60 minutes and \u201cdisrespecting\u201d the players and the competitive integrity of the game.<\/p>\n

Three days after the game, Eagles veterans are speaking up to spin the narrative after teammate Miles Sanders said \u201cnobody liked the decision\u201d in the locker room. First, Jason Kelce \u2013 whose mid-December diatribe about prioritizing winning over all costs, including player development \u2013 defended the Eagles\u2019 tank for a better draft pick. Now it\u2019s Graham\u2019s turn.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, we want to win. We out there trying to win,\u201d Graham said. \u201cBut at the same time, people disrespecting Nate Sudfeld like he\u2019s just terrible. Nate deserved the opportunity, and I knew he was supposed to get out there. I don\u2019t know why people didn\u2019t think that because he was excited all before the game. I don\u2019t think coach has ever made me feel like he wanted to lose because he hates losing and when we lose, we feel that when we\u2019re in a team meeting that Wednesday of the next week talking about the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sudfeld was 5-for-12 passing with an interception and lost a fumble.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome people just didn\u2019t like the decision, because they want to see Hurts in there,\u201d Graham said, \u201cbut at the end of the day, this game didn\u2019t mean anything for us. We were still going home, so why not see who else you got out there?\u201d<\/p>\n

Because Sudfeld is a free agent who has been with the Eagles for four years and Hurts is a rookie under evaluation, perhaps?<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like people kind of making a big deal out of something coach was going to do anyway because he wanted to see his guys and see what he had moving forward for next year,\u201d Graham said. \u201cI don\u2019t know. I just feel like when the Giants start talking all that stuff, people started getting all mad because, \u2018They all disrespecting the game.\u2019 But it\u2019s really, that was the plan in the beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Giants fell one win short of the playoffs and will be most haunted by blowing an 11-point lead in the final six minutes of a loss to the Eagles in October.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
