Capitol was temporarily taken over by his supporters Wednesday. The only question was the method of the 45th president\u2019s exit.<\/p>\n<p> Some lawmakers and governors said Trump, impeached but not convicted once already, should be impeached again before serving out the remaining 14 days of his term.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       Others have sought for Vice President Mike Pence and the White House cabinet to invoke for the first time the 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, meant to remove a president when he\u2019s not longer able to do his job.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDonald Trump is a danger to our democracy. I continue to support his impeachment and removal from office, and am looking carefully at new articles of impeachment being drafted and offered by my colleagues,\u201d said Rep. Donald Beyer, a Virginia Democrat, late Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Beyer also voice support for using the 25th Amendment as a faster method of removal.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a high-profile New York Democrat in her second term, made her feelings known by  a one-word Tweet: \u201cImpeach.\u201d<\/p>\n<div data-layout=\"inline\n              \" data-layout-mobile=\"\" class=\"\n        media-object\n        type-InsetTweet\n          inline\n    scope-web|mobileapps\n  article__inset\n        article__inset--type-InsetTweet\n          article__inset--inline\n  \"><\/p>\n<div class=\"dynamic-inset-container article__inset__dynamic\">\n<style>\n            iframe.twitter-tweet {\n                width: 100% !important;\n            }\n        <\/style>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>\n            <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AOC\/status\/1346974976977596416?s=20\"><\/a>\n            <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>        <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>       Democrats weren\u2019t the only ones seeking Trump\u2019s impeachment. Phil Scott, the Republican governor of Vermont, tweeted: \u201cEnough is enough. President Trump should resign or be removed from office by his Cabinet, or by the Congress.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The Washington Post\u2019s editorial board took a similarly blunt tone, though it favored the 25th Amendment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe president is unfit to remain in office for the next 14 days. Every second he retains the vast powers of the presidency is a threat to public order and national security,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>paper\u2019s editorial board wrote.<\/p>\n<p>It called on Pence to gather the cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment and for him to serve out the remainder of Trump\u2019s term.<\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<p>The New York Times\u2019 editorial board also joined the chorus, saying in an editorial: \u201cThe president needs to be held accountable\u00a0\u2014 through impeachment proceedings or criminal prosecution \u2014 and the same goes for his supporters who carried out the violence.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Even some Washington lobbying groups and trade unions, usually shy about being seen as taking a partisan positions in public, embraced Trump\u2019s removal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVice President Pence, who was evacuated from the Capitol, should seriously consider working with the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to preserve democracy,\u201d the National Association of Manufacturers, one of Washington\u2019s powerhouse lobbying groups, said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The North America\u2019s Building Trades Unions, which represents construction trade craftsmen like electrical and steel workers, called for Trump to resign or be removed by the cabinet invoking the 25th Amendment .<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny less action by the Cabinet, and America should consider them all co-conspirators,\u201d the group\u2019s president, Sean McGarvey, said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>As of Wednesday evening, congressional leadership had not addressed the calls publicly, instead focusing on finishing the official counting of Electoral College votes that will make Joe Biden the nation\u2019s 46th president.<\/p>\n<p>Pence re-opened the disrupted the Senate session and said, \u201cthe violence was quelled, the Capitol is secured and the people\u2019s work continues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo those who wreaked havoc in our capitol today, you did not win. Violence never wins. Freedom wins,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Former presidents also weighed in through public statements to condemn the attack, though none called for Trump\u2019s removal.<\/p>\n<p>Former President Barack Obama said GOP leaders faced a choice: \u201cThey can continue down this road and keep stoking the raging fires. Or they choose reality and take the first steps toward extinguishing the flames. They can choose America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Former President George W. Bush said he and his wife watched scene \u201cin disbelief and dismay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a sickening and heartbreaking sight.
