Congress early Thursday morning certified President-elect Joe Biden\u2019s election victory after two Republican-led challenges to swing state electors were shot down.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The certification of Biden\u2019s 306 electoral college votes was delayed for hours after lawmakers were forced into lockdown when an angry pro-Trump mob wreaked havoc on the Capitol building Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Before confirming Biden\u2019s win, objections to his victory in Arizona and Pennsylvania were brought up \u2014 and subsequently squashed \u2014 during the joint-session of Congress.<\/p>\n

Other planned objections were dropped by several Republican Senators after Wednesday\u2019s unrest.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The violence at the Capitol resulted in the shooting death of a woman, over 50 arrests and widespread destruction.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Biden called the chaos \u201can unprecedented assault unlike anything we\u2019ve seen in modern times,\u201d in a Wednesday address.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The president-elect also said the lawlessness at the Capitol didn\u2019t represent the \u201ctrue America\u201d but was instead the work of a \u201csmall number of extremists.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
