Fervid Olive Garden fans jumped to the restaurant chain\u2019s defense after Anderson Cooper dared to drag the popular eatery \u2014 saying the mob of rioters who stormed the US Capitol should celebrate there.<\/p>\n

The CNN anchor made the comment Wednesday<\/a> as video of angry protesters storming the Capitol app<\/a>eared on the screen.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook at them, they\u2019re high-fiving each other for this deplorable display of completely unpatriotic, completely against law and order, completely unconstitutional behavior, it\u2019s stunning,\u201d Cooper said. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd they\u2019re going to go back to the Olive Garden and to the Holiday Inn they\u2019re staying at, or the Garden Marriott, and they\u2019re going to have some drinks and talk about the great day they had in Washington\u2026. They stood up for nothing other than mayhem.\u201d<\/p>\n

Olive Garden quickly started trending on Twitter<\/a>, with quick-witted fans defending the Italian chain.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll Olive Garden ever wanted to do was provide unlimited salad and breadsticks to the people,\u201d Imani Gandy wrote<\/a>. \u201cThey don\u2019t deserve to be dragged like this.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a literal coup happening and somehow y\u2019all have still found the time to drag Olive Garden,\u201d Twitter user Shaynizzle wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One popular meme showed a man wearing a Trump hat smiling as he walked away with a Congressional podium.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you\u2019re about to celebrate w the boys at Olive Garden \/\/\/ holiday inn,\u201d one caption said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Olive Garden has not addressed Cooper\u2019s comment on Twitter.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
